Interior design for hotels and resorts

We design whole hotels or separate areas: guest rooms, lobbies, restaurants and bars, SPA, conference rooms. We create interiors that guests remember, that withstand daily traffic and that staff find easy to clean and service. We work with hotels of every class, including 4 and 5 stars, in Moscow, across Russia, the CIS and abroad.

What we design in a hotel

Twin room at the Askaneli hotel

Guest rooms

Standard rooms, twins, family rooms, suites, apartments and accessible rooms. We start the room stock with a pilot room and build the other categories on it.
Lounge in the Askaneli hotel lobby: a fireplace, armchairs and a rug

Lobby, reception and lift halls

The lobby is the first thing a guest sees and the main place where the impression of the hotel forms. We plan the waiting area, reception, lounge and wayfinding.
Askaneli hotel restaurant with globe chandeliers

Restaurant and bar

A hotel restaurant serves both residents and walk-in guests: breakfasts, dinners, banquets, events. Restaurants and bars are our particular strength, and where possible and appropriate we design the hotel restaurant as a business in its own right.
Sauna in the Askaneli hotel SPA complex with lit benches

SPA and fitness

A SPA sells guests a feeling of calm. We build the guest's route from the changing room to the relaxation area, work with natural materials, window views and soft light, and make treatment rooms convenient for therapists.
Conference hall of the Cossack Center in Ust-Labinsk: a screen, wooden chairs and acoustic ceiling panels

Conference and meeting rooms

Rooms that are easy to reconfigure for different formats, from a business meeting or lecture to a banquet.
Guest floor corridor of the «3A» hotel with terracotta walls

Corridors, stairs and public restrooms

Every guest sees them, yet they are often skimped on. Finishes withstand trolleys and suitcases, and light and signage lead guests to their room.
Guest rooms

The pilot room: where the room stock begins

We start the room stock with a pilot room: a standard room that is then repeated dozens of times. On it we work out the layout, finishes, furniture and lighting, and make production drawings for the furniture and lamps.
We design the other categories on the basis of the pilot room. The rooms share one style, and their development costs less and takes less time.

Approach

How we work with hotels

Askaneli hotel restaurant: a long table with the hotel logo and pendant lamps
01

Rooms and public areas in parallel

We start work on the pilot room and the lobby at the same time, right after the contract is signed. That keeps the hotel project from dragging on.
02

We work to brand standards

The studio's expertise includes working with hotel brand requirements, including Accor and Wyndham. If the hotel has an operator with a design brief or brand standards, we design to them.
03

We renovate without closing

We have experience of construction and finishing works done in stages while the space stays partly open to guests.
04

Technology from the start

We take into account kitchen, bar and reception technology, fire safety and acoustics, so that the interior does not have to be redone on site.
05

Engineering meets interior

Ventilation, air conditioning and heating are calculated by licensed firms. We bring all engineering projects together, see how they affect the design and make adjustments in time, before construction starts.
06

We make custom pieces

Custom furniture, lamps and art make an interior recognisable. To use the budget carefully we also use ready-made factory products, but a striking design always needs custom pieces.
Scope of work

What a hotel design project includes

1

Concept

two layout options;
three mood boards, from which we choose one direction together;
3D renderings of the main rooms, at least three views each;
room schedule;
floor, ceiling and wall plans with specific materials;
a draft lighting scheme, by separate agreement.
2

Working documentation

A set of drawings for builders: installation and demolition plans, furniture and equipment layouts, floor, ceiling and wall plans with materials, doors and windows, lamps, switches and sockets, plumbing, tile layouts, sections and details.
Plus briefs for related engineers: water supply and sewerage, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical, smart home and other systems.
3

Custom drawings

Drawings of furniture, lamps and decor of our design. Workshops make the pieces from them.
We also issue briefs for art objects, custom lamps and other interesting details, so that artists and workshops can create pieces that only your hotel will have.
4

Tender documentation

This is more than a project specification. Every item is described and selected: finishes, plumbing, doors with hardware, furniture, lamps, curtains and decor. We name the brand and model but not the shop: your procurement department decides where to buy. Custom pieces are marked as made-to-order items, with manufacturing instructions in the custom drawings.
5

Design supervision

We make sure the interior is built as designed. The fee includes two site visits; if more are needed, we agree on them depending on the project size. The client covers travel and accommodation in other cities.
