The challenge was to create a trendy, memorable, and modern place. The idea was to come up with an unusual, "dynamic" feature that would play with the guest's attention: would they notice that something had changed?
It was necessary to create a completely new interior that would meet the restaurant's current needs, while also preserving and incorporating existing elements. The challenge was to come up with a fresh solution for the facade, given the strict architectural requirements in Moscow.
The restaurant's concept is based on the idea of constant changes in the world around us and the guest's ability to observe and notice them. As guests move through the restaurant, their perception of the space changes, allowing them to constantly discover new aspects of it.
When creating the restaurant, we were inspired by nature itself and the natural changes that occur in it: sunsets and sunrises, ebb and flow, and the passage of time. We wanted to emphasize that these changes happen daily right in front of our eyes, but people often overlook them if they don't focus on them. This idea became the foundation for our interior design concept.
The building consists of two floors, and there was no need to divide them, despite the fact that they have different functions. Instead, we focused on creating a unified concept and overall perception. To achieve this, we drew inspiration from the idea of day and night. The first floor symbolizes the warmth of sunlight, with a bright band visible at sunset and soft golden rays at sunrise. The interior is designed in a calm, monochromatic sand color, without excessive coloration, which aligns with current trends.
The bar is designed in a minimalist style, but it is also adorned with bright details and materials. The front of the bar is made of brass with a gradient oxidation finish. The back of the bar is a panel of corrugated glass with an alcohol "slide" with a dichroic film. The bar itself symbolizes the sun, a place of fire, fun, and a source of movement, life, and light. The bar is visible from the street, which attracts visitors and sparks their curiosity to enter the restaurant. There is also an open kitchen where the chefs prepare the pasta that customers can purchase. The restaurant needed a coatroom, but due to the complex architecture of the space, there was no room for a permanent one. The solution was a mobile coatroom that can be removed during the summer season, freeing up space and allowing for larger seating areas.
The second floor is an "evening" story, with deep, rich colors. It represents the sunset, a stunning phenomenon in terms of its colors: we have mixed warm shades of red, yellow, and orange with cool shades of blue and purple. The piano takes center stage, allowing guests to enjoy live music in the evenings. Artist Evgeniya Lampitskaya created the stucco decor and gradient for the second floor using Decorici materials.
In the second light zone, it was decided to place an art object that connects two spaces and attracts attention from the outside. This object is a composition of decorative colored glass lamps, custom-made by the KIRINI glassblowing workshop. In the process of searching for a shape, we chose one that could incorporate all the elements of the concept. On the one hand, it resembles a cloud that sometimes appears in the sky before sunset. On the other hand, the lamps resemble sheets of rolled-out dough, which is a reference to the Italian cuisine. Each member of the team saw something different in her, and that's what makes her so beautiful: she creates a multitude of different images and allows her imagination to run wild.
The interior features several art objects, which are a composition of a light fixture and two rotating glasses with dichroic film, allowing for the creation of various color and light patterns on the walls. By changing the position of the light fixture, guests can also change the mood of the restaurant. Several mirrors are also made using the same material, allowing guests to perceive the color of the room differently and see themselves in a new light. These elements reinforce the original concept of changes that will only be noticeable to the most attentive visitors.
The walls and furniture upholstery contrast with various metal surfaces, such as steel, brass, copper, mirrors, and glass, creating a play between matte and glossy elements.
Special attention was paid to the lighting in the interior during the design process. In collaboration with the Yarko-Yarko team and Aledo, the lighting was designed to create a comfortable atmosphere throughout the day.
