The task was to design a modern-style restaurant interior, while maximizing the use of the existing restaurant's decor. The goal was to create three distinct rooms with different functions and designs, all united by a common concept that incorporated the necessary functionality and features.
We aimed to make the interior of the new True Cost restaurant chain original and democratic, but with recognizable features of the chain, while adding a “highlight”. Organize the space of three halls so that they differ slightly in atmosphere and can be used for different formats of events: a party hall with a bar, a stage and the possibility to use part of the room as a dance floor; a multifunctional hall with a transformable seating for large banquets; and a hall with a cozy sofa seating and an additional entrance to the restaurant.
In order to place a wardrobe and organize a convenient place for the reception/cash desk, it was decided to expand the space near the vestibule. In addition, the wardrobe allowed to separate the bathroom area from the hall without building additional walls that would block the light from the window to the hall.
In the first hall there is also a large wooden bar with a facade made of metal tiles and a stage area for performances of musical groups. There is a mobile seating area in the center, which allows you to move tables and organize a dance floor. An installation made of wooden boxes with the True Cost logo written on them was installed under the ceiling (it is the tallest in this hall). The light was placed in the boxes, "lowering" it closer to the guest so as not to pile up the space with a lot of tracks with lights. The hall wall is decorated with art made to order by artist Maxim Borisov and his team. The art is a three-dimensional panel of screws with painted caps on a concrete background, depicting two dynamic figures in a dance.
The second hall on the ground floor also features two panels by the same artist, created using a combination of different colors, materials, and textures. This is a hall with a "stationary" but unique seating arrangement, with semi-circular sofas and a wave-shaped screen in the center, allowing for more guests while maintaining privacy. The lighting is multi-level, with both overhead lights (large and small clusters) and wall sconces and floor lamps, creating different zones in the room. There are two decorative screens with the letters "T" and "C".
The hall on the second floor can be accessed by climbing the stairs, it is "separated" by a glass vestibule. This room has been made as "mobile" as possible — it is suitable for events (birthdays, corporate parties, etc.), all the furniture here can be moved / pushed apart, thereby transforming the space. The decor of the hall — a mirror panel at the entrance with a picture of a person's face, as well as several panels with geometric shapes — are also custom-made. On the wall adjacent to the bathroom, there is another panel (made to order) made of slats and various types of glass with lighting. Since guests always see the ceiling of the second floor from the street, special attention was paid to the lighting, making it unusual and diverse, which immediately makes people wonder what's up there. The custom-made floor lamps located behind the sofa allowed the light to be brought closer to the guests.
In the first-floor hall, it was not possible to allocate a separate room for a bathroom, so the space was divided into two stalls, with a large sink placed in the window. To add more natural light to the bathroom on the second floor, one wall was made of glass blocks. The glass block slightly "blurs" the image, so that the guest at the sink is not visible from the stairs between the floors, and they feel comfortable.
The materials used in the room are mostly natural-colored bricks or bricks painted in the brand's colors, as well as wood, leather, and metal, which are all natural materials. The color palette of the room on Belorusskaya resonates with the colors of True Cost on Dmitrovskaya, creating a unified story.
A careful guest will notice that all the art elements depict a person, because this place is about people and for people.
